Claudia Sheinbaum: The President Who Expects Results in Trade Negotiations with the US
In a day marked by commercial uncertainty, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, urged calm and to wait for the results of the negotiations that his government will hold with the United States, after the recent breakdown in trade relations between the North American country and Canada.

Trade Tensions: The Break Between the US and Canada
The recent commercial breakup between USA and Canada emerges in an environment of growing tension. Trump announced the immediate suspension of all negotiations with Canada, accusing the Ontario government of inappropriately using the former president's image. Currently, 85% of trade between the US and Canada remains tariff-free thanks to the Mexico, United States and Canada Treaty (T-MEC). However, Trump's protectionist policies have had a negative impact on the Canadian economy, generating job losses and pressures on local industries.
The Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, made clear his rejection of US tariffs, stating that his government will continue to fight against these measures. “The path to prosperity is working together,” Ford emphasized in a recent statement.
