🧁 Ingredients
- 🥩 500 g beef (needle or shoulder)
- 🥔 3 units potatoes
- 🥕 2 units carrots
- 🌽 1 cup corn (can be frozen)
- 🧅 1 unit onion
- 🧄 2 cloves garlic
- 🍅 2 units tomatoes
- 🌿 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
- 🌶️ 1 teaspoon pepper
- 🥖 500 g wheat flour
- 💧 300 ml warm water
- 🍯 1 tablespoon sugar
- 🧂 10 g salt
- 🌱 10 g fresh yeast
👨🍳 Preparation
- We begin by preparing the stew: we cut the meat into cubes of approximately 2 cm and seal it in a large pot with a little hot oil. This will help seal in the juices.
- Once the meat is sealed, we add the finely chopped onion and garlic, and let them cook until golden.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, sliced carrots and diced potatoes. We stir well to mix all the ingredients.
- Add the corn, oregano, salt and pepper. Stir again and cover with water, making sure all the ingredients are submerged.
- We let it cook over low heat for about 1 hour, or until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked. If necessary, adjust the salt to taste.
- While the stew is cooking, let's prepare the homemade bread: in a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and sugar. We make a hole in the center and add the yeast dissolved in the water tibia.
- We knead the mixture well for about 10 minutes, until we obtain a soft and elastic dough. We cover with a cloth and let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place, until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough has risen, we degas it and form a loaf or several buns. We place on a baking tray and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
- We preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- We serve the hot stew with freshly baked homemade bread. Enjoy!
