This Thursday, President Yamandú Orsi met with Gustavo Salle, a representative from the Sovereign Identity party. During the meeting, the president reiterated his invitation to participate in the Social Dialogue, an event that seeks to build consensus among the country's various political and social sectors.

After the meeting, Salle explained that Orsi presented him with a series of arguments to justify the meeting. He explained that the president believes this forum can be as legitimate as Parliament for reaching agreements on strategic issues.

However, the representative expressed reservations. While he appreciated Orsi's gesture, he made it clear that the proposal has yet to be finalized by his political party. "I'm going to present the invitation to the party," he stated, although he did advance his recommendation to not participate.

He explained that his position stems from the fact that he believes some issues relevant to the national situation are not included in the Social Dialogue agenda. "There are very worrying aspects of the country that are not included in the meeting," he stated after the meeting.

The final decision on Sovereign Identity's participation in this process will rest with the party. Meanwhile, the government continues its round of contacts seeking to add diverse voices to a process that aims to address long-term issues with a collective perspective.
