Spanish wine exports fell by 2.1% in the first half of the year, reaching €1.44 billion, while volume fell by 2.4% to 9.97 million hectoliters, according to data from the AEAT (Spanish Agency for the Promotion of Wine), analyzed by the Interprofessional Wine Association.
Specifically, data for the first 11 months of the 2024/25 campaign, corresponding to August 2024 to June 2025, show a slight drop in value (-0.2%), to €2.6947 billion, and a 5.7% drop in volume, to 17.5 million hectoliters.
By product, in these first 11 months of the campaign, in terms of value, semi-sparkling wines (+19%), with DOP (+0.3%), liqueur wines (+5.1%) and sparkling wines (+2.5%) increased, while in volume, semi-sparkling wines (+14%) and liqueur wines (+1.4%) increased.
Meanwhile, packaged wines, which include fortified, sparkling, semi-sparkling, still, and BiB wines, increased their sales by 0.1% to €2.2049 billion , although their exports decreased by 4.8% in volume, to 762.7 million liters.
Bulk wines fell 6.5% in volume, to 9.9 million hectoliters, and 1.6% in value, to €489.7 million.
