MADRID, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)

US President Donald Trump asserted this Friday, hours before his highly anticipated meeting in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin, that there will be no economic agreements between the two countries until the war in Ukraine is resolved.

"I've noticed he's bringing in a lot of business people from Russia. And that's good. I like it because they want to do business, but they won't do it until we resolve the war," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.

In this regard, the White House resident reiterated that the United States is "the most attractive country in the world," with the most vibrant economy and businesses, whereas previously it was "a dead country." He believes that Putin "wants a piece of that" because his country isn't experiencing economic growth. "In fact, it's the opposite."

The US president also indicated that he will speak with Putin about the need to stop the deaths, noting that while the Russian leader believes this may help him reach a better agreement, "it actually hurts him."

Trump also admitted that issues such as territory swaps will be discussed, although he stressed that it is up to Ukraine to make that decision.

"I'm not here to negotiate about Ukraine. I'm here to bring you around the table," he summed up.
