European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has confirmed that she will participate, along with other European leaders, in Monday's meeting in Washington between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky.
"At the request of President Zelensky, I will join the meeting with President Trump and other European leaders at the White House tomorrow," the President of the European Commission said in a brief message posted on social media X.
Von der Leyen also announced that she will also attend the meeting scheduled for this Sunday of the so-called Coalition of the Willing, which brings together some thirty countries allied with Ukraine, including Spain, at around 3:00 p.m.
In this regard, he indicated that he will receive Zelensky in Brussels on Sunday afternoon ahead of the coalition meeting that day, which will address Friday's summit in Alaska between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the meeting with the Ukrainian leader in Washington on Monday.
