Macron urges against showing "weakness" in the face of "the imperialist and revisionist Russia of today."

The so-called "coalition of the willing," the group of Ukrainian allies committed to participating in a hypothetical mission to guarantee the security of Kyiv following a peace agreement with Russia, will accompany Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House this coming Monday to present a "united front" to US President Donald Trump.

"Our objective for tomorrow is simple," explained French President Emmanuel Macron at the end of this Sunday's virtual meeting between the heads of state and government of the participating countries. "The first is to remember that we want peace, a solid and sustainable peace, to present a united front, and to reiterate who is on the side of international law," he stated.

Macron has defended this unity as an essential weapon for confronting "today's Russia," which he described as "an imperialist and revisionist power that since 2008 has been busy conquering new territories, revising its international borders, and never fulfilling its promises of peace and non-aggression."

"Therefore, if we are weak toward Russia today, we will be planting the seeds for tomorrow's conflicts, which will affect Ukrainians. And make no mistake, they can also affect us at the cyber level, in terms of information, or in contested areas, from maritime to space," he warned.

"Through the Ukrainian conflict, we are redefining the rules of our collective security. We must be part of that. And that's why we're heading there (to Washington) tomorrow," he added.
