MADRID, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)
The Russian Defense Ministry reported this Friday the alleged seizure of a new town in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, hours before Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, respectively, are scheduled to meet in Alaska for an unprecedented summit since the start of the invasion.
Moscow has asserted that, thanks to the "decisive" actions of its military on the front lines, troops have managed to "liberate" the town of Aleksandrograd. This follows several others that have reportedly been captured in recent days, where Russia has shown no signs of easing its offensive.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported this Friday 149 clashes with Russian troops on the front lines over the past day, in which the "invader" allegedly used more than 5,500 drones.
Despite the apparent intensification of the offensive, several senior Ukrainian officials denied this week that Russian forces had managed to break through the last defensive line in Donetsk, where the siege of the strategic Pokrovsk junction persists.
