At least one person has died and dozens have been injured as a result of attacks carried out by the Russian Army on various sites in western Ukraine on Thursday, local authorities reported.
A combined drone and cruise missile attack on Lviv has left one dead and two injured, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksim Kozitsky, announced on his Telegram channel. He also lamented that dozens of residential buildings were damaged.
In Mukachevo, a town in the Transcarpathia region, also in the west of the country, the city council reported on its Facebook account that there are at least 12 victims so far, five of whom are receiving hospital treatment in stable condition.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces issued alerts late Wednesday in several regions of the country, including the capital, Kyiv, following Russia's massive launch of drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia in recent days of intensifying its offensive in an attempt to demonstrate its strength ahead of potential peace negotiations, and has urged his partners to maintain political and economic pressure measures until a ceasefire is reached.
