Hungary's Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, has denounced a new attack on its "energy security," the third in just a short period of time, following the recent Ukrainian bombing of the Druzhba pipeline, the longest in the world and the main route for transporting Russian oil to Europe.
"This is another attack on our country's energy security. Another attempt to drag us into war," the Hungarian Foreign Minister denounced on his Facebook page, stressing that they will continue to commit to peace.
Szijjarto explained that this is the third attack on a section of the oil pipeline connecting Russia and Belarus in a "short period" and has caused the transport of oil to Hungary to be halted again.
In recent hours, Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that the attack took place last night. This week, Ukrainian drones attacked the Nikolske and Unecha facilities, temporarily disrupting oil shipments to Hungary and Slovakia.
