MADRID, 20 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Russian Armed Forces launched a new massive attack on Ukrainian territory last night, leaving around fifteen people injured in Okhtyrka, Sumi province. President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the incident, and he has once again called for increased pressure from his allies.

At least fifteen drones struck this northeastern Ukrainian city shortly after midnight Wednesday, according to the Sumi Prosecutor's Office, destroying a dozen residential buildings and injuring 14 people, including three minors and a baby just months old.

In addition to Sumi, air alerts have been issued in several towns in Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava, as well as in the city of Kostantinovka, in Donetsk province. In total, more than 60 drones and a ballistic missile have been downed, as President Zelensky himself reported on his social media.

"All these attacks demonstrate and confirm the need to pressure Moscow and impose new sanctions and tariffs until diplomacy fully works," insisted Zelensky, recently returned from the White House, where the possibility of organizing a face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin was discussed.

Specifically, Zelensky emphasized one of the points discussed during his visit to Washington: that Ukraine needs "strong security guarantees" once a possible peace agreement with Russia is signed.

"We need strong security guarantees to ensure a truly secure and lasting peace," he said.
