A 63-year-old man was arrested in Rivera as part of an investigation into alleged crimes related to the possession of child sexual material. The suspect worked in the Tourism Department of the Municipality, working at the visitor service center at the International Park. He has no criminal record.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed by his own superiors, who reportedly noticed the presence of suspicious files on his cell phone and computer during work hours. According to sources close to the case, the devices showed signs of storing explicit material related to minors.
Initial technical investigations confirmed the existence of images and files consistent with child pornography. Based on these findings, the Prosecutor's Office requested his arrest, which was carried out on Wednesday night.
