MADRID, 20 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Cepyme) has urged public administrations to activate all necessary mechanisms to guarantee direct and rapid financial aid to companies affected by forest fires, which have had a particularly devastating impact on the thousands of small and medium-sized businesses located in rural, agricultural, forestry, and tourism sectors.

In a statement, the small and medium-sized business association also called for easier access to soft loans, tax deferrals, and immediate liquidity support for small and medium-sized businesses affected by the forest fires, which see not only their economic activity threatened, but also their future and that of their communities.

Furthermore, Cepyme has urged the implementation of a rural and business recovery plan that prioritizes the reactivation of economic activity in the affected areas and the promotion of prevention, territorial resilience, and environmental sustainability policies to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The SME employers' association has expressed its solidarity and support to all the individuals, families, and businesses suffering the consequences of the fires.

"We will convey the specific demands of our regional and sectoral associations to public administrations, and we will support SMEs in managing aid and rebuilding their businesses," Cepyme stated.
