Artificial intelligence is already being integrated into everyday tasks in Uruguayan offices.

Artificial intelligence is no longer science fiction and is now part of everyday life in Uruguayan workplaces. According to a study conducted by IDEA, 88% of employees say they already use AI tools in their daily tasks.
The report, titled "Tell Me You Use AI Without Telling Me You Use AI ," surveyed 392 professionals from different Uruguayan companies. The results show a very high level of adoption: 42% of respondents use artificial intelligence every day, and 34% several times a week. In total, three out of four use these technologies at least a few times a week.
When you look at which tasks AI is most widely applied to, the numbers are clear:
-
Text writing: 80%
-
Search and investigation: 52%
-
Content creation and design for social media: 41%
-
Data analysis: 39%
-
Automation of repetitive tasks: 36%
-
Administrative procedures: 33%
In addition, more specific uses appear such as business intelligence (15%), programming (11%), customer service (6%), text translation (2%) and generation of summaries or documents (1%).
On the other hand, the impact of these tools on productivity appears to be mostly positive. Ninety-two percent of respondents say their performance has improved since incorporating artificial intelligence into their work routine. Only 8% say they have not noticed any changes in their productivity.
When asked about the future of their jobs, there was a clear consensus: 100% agreed that their role will change in the next three years as a result of the advancement of AI. Within this group, 50% believe the changes will be very significant, while 42% anticipate changes of medium impact.
However, there is a contrast between what happens at the individual level and what is happening within companies. While employees are advancing in the use of these technologies, only 67% of organizations actively encourage the use of AI among their staff.
This panorama highlights how artificial intelligence is gradually becoming part of our daily lives, driving transformations that appear to be just beginning.
