by August 22, 2025

The FBI this morning began a search of the home of John Bolton, former National Security Advisor during the first Trump administration and now a staunch critic of the president, as part of an investigation into the alleged possession of classified documents.

U.S. federal agents arrived at Bolton's home in Bethesda, Maryland, at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Sources involved in the operation have confirmed to Fox News that the search is linked to Bolton's possible possession of classified documents, as he was present at his home during the search.

The same sources have clarified that Bolton, who served as Trump's national security adviser between 2018 and 2019, is not detained or under arrest.
