La Concordia Bridge explosion: Kevin's audio recording that shook Mexico
Mexico City experienced one of its most tragic days on September 12th, when a gas pipeline explosion on the La Concordia Bridge in Iztapalapa caused a massive fire that left at least nine dead and more than 90 injured. "Mom, help me... something exploded... I'm all burned... I love you so much, family," Kevin can be heard saying in a broken voice. The audio, shared on social media, generated a wave of messages of support and solidarity.
Kevin's health status

The head of the Attorney General's Office , Bertha María Alcalde Luján, reported that one of the main lines of investigation points to the truck being traveled at excessive speed, which may have caused it to overturn and subsequently explode.
A devastating balance
The fire left nine people dead and 55 hospitalized, most of them with serious burns. Witnesses described scenes of panic, with people trying to flee as the fire consumed vehicles and a passenger truck.
