Social Security enrollment has fallen by 22,782 workers (-0.1%) in the first 14 days of August, reaching 21,626,859 contributors in the daily series of affiliates, according to a report from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration on Wednesday.

However, from the beginning of the year until August 14, the system has added almost 531,000 employees.

In seasonally adjusted terms, the first half of August closed with 21,643,283 registered workers, thanks to an increase of 6,606 in employment over the previous month.

Adjusting for seasonality and calendar effects, Social Security affiliation totaled 478,781 workers in the last year, "a figure in line with both pre- and post-pandemic levels, with an increase of 279,876 affiliates since the beginning of 2025," the Ministry highlighted.

With data available through August 14, the total number of affiliates has increased by 805,740 people in the adjusted series since December 2023, and by 1,351,906 since December 2022, before the labor reform came into effect.

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, Elma Saiz, emphasized that employment remains at "historical highs." "The health of our labor market is reflected in the number of workers and the quality of their contracts," she stressed.
