Social Security lost an average of 4,667 foreign affiliates in July, 0.15% fewer than the previous month. This means that the seventh month of 2025 closed with 3,091,348 foreign employees, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration reported this Monday.

Of the total number of foreign workers registered at the end of June, 947,775 came from EU countries (31%) and 2,143,572 from third countries (69%). The largest groups of foreign workers are those from Morocco, Romania, Colombia, Italy, Venezuela, and China.

In seasonally adjusted terms, foreign membership increased by 7,602 contributors (+0.25%), to 2,999,225 members.

The Ministry has highlighted that there are 1,069,456 more foreign contributors than in June 2018, representing 14.2% of the system's members. It has also noted that since the labor reform, more than 40% of the jobs created have been for foreign workers.

"Spain is a welcoming and integrating country, and the number of more than three million foreign workers demonstrates that they have chosen our country to develop their lives and talents, contributing to the growth of the economy and ensuring our future," said the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, Elma Saiz.

He also noted that more and more people from other countries are working in high-value sectors, where their experience and skills are "essential" for advancement. "They are colleagues in our work and everyday life, who contribute culture, humanity, and prosperity to our society," he concluded.
