Shooting in Salto Nuevo: attack on home leaves one injured
Two men on a motorcycle fired at a house in Salto Nuevo. One person was injured, and the men fled quickly to the south of the city. The incident occurred Tuesday night at around 10:50 p.m. in Larrañaga and Patulé, south of Salto . The attackers opened fire on the front of a house and retreated before police arrived.
At the scene, police officers found approximately 14 shell casings, apparently 9 mm caliber, and numerous bullet holes in the facade and interior. The area was cordoned off for the Forensic Investigation.
According to the homeowner, who is the injured man's partner, they were both on the sidewalk when the motorcycle drove by and the burst of gunfire erupted. The man was hit in the shoulder.
A colleague took the injured man to the emergency room at Salto Hospital. The on-call doctor diagnosed a gunshot wound to the right deltoid muscle, with entry and exit.
Initial hypotheses point to a possible settling of scores, according to the Salto Police . The attackers fled south and are being sought by authorities.
