Carlos Eduardo Mora sentenced for the murder of Miguel Uribe
The Colombian justice system sentenced Carlos Eduardo Mora, known in the criminal world as "El Veneco," to 21 years in prison for the murder of Senator Miguel Uribe, a tragic event that marked the country's politics. Mora was found guilty of aggravated homicide, illegal possession of weapons, and conspiracy to commit a crime, in a case that has resonated throughout the highest sectors of Colombian society.
According to the Colombian Prosecutor's Office, this sentence follows a court agreement in which Mora admitted his guilt and agreed to serve as a witness against other defendants. The sentence, which includes three aggravated offenses, will be formally read in March 2026.
