MADRID, 21 (EUROPA PRESS)
Banco Santander is speeding up the advance payment of insurance compensation and contributions from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and has already opened specific lines of immediate liquidity for farmers and ranchers affected by the fires ravaging several regions of Spain, including Galicia, Castilla y León, Asturias, and Extremadura, the bank explained in response to a request from Europa Press.
The organization is mobilizing its teams to contact and assist affected clients, including families, businesses, and self-employed individuals.
The organization's goal is to help clients address urgent expenses in the short term and begin farm rehabilitation, crop restoration, or livestock feeding.
Beyond these immediate initiatives, the bank is in contact with public authorities and agricultural associations, who are still outlining specific measures, and is awaiting the Council of Ministers' approval of a package of measures for the affected areas.
Thus, Santander is evaluating which measures will be most appropriate in a later phase to mitigate the damage and offer the best solutions for the foreseeable impact on the activity of some sectors, beyond the initial material losses.
