The death toll from the explosion that rocked a gunpowder factory in the Russian region of Ryazan, south of Moscow, on Friday has risen to 25, according to the latest casualty report released Tuesday by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
"The remains of another deceased person have been found in Ryazan. According to the latest information, 158 people were injured, of whom 25 died," the organization said in a message posted on its Telegram account.
On Monday, the region's governor, Pavel Malkov, lamented the large number of injuries caused by the fire that broke out near the building in the Shilovsky district, according to reports from the Russian news agency TASS.
Emergency teams continue search and rescue operations with the help of canine teams, although much of the debris has already been removed.
