MADRID, 14 (EUROPA PRESS)

Renfe announced early Thursday that train service between Galicia and Madrid remains suspended due to the fires in the province of Ourense.

At the same time, he indicated that "infrastructure inspection work continues to resume rail service," according to the latest update, published at 7:30 a.m. on social media.

Renfe announced yesterday that it would resume regular train service between Galicia and Madrid this Thursday "if the fire is under control."

He also noted that he had scheduled special trains for passengers who had been unable to travel due to the suspension of rail service.

The public company indicated, in a message on 'X', that the first train scheduled to depart would be at 7:00 a.m., from Madrid to A Coruña; and at 8:00 a.m. for Ourense.

"Those who have tickets for tomorrow's trip will receive the corresponding information by text message and email," the railway company announced.

Adif explained that it had not been able to guarantee the resumption of rail traffic, which had been interrupted again due to the proximity of a fire to the track.

During the afternoon, Adif technicians inspected the infrastructure to assess whether rail service could be resumed, something that has been ruled out for the time being.

The suspension of trains caused a backlog of passengers at Madrid's Chamartín station, who have been given the option to change or cancel their tickets free of charge.
