The rainfall report from the Artigas department police network recorded widely varying figures across different locations over the past 24 hours. The data show contrasts that affect both urban life and rural production.

In Paso Farías, 48 millimeters were measured, the highest level of the survey. However, in Bernabé Rivera, only 1 millimeter was reached, marking a gap that worries producers and residents.

The city of Artigas reported 10.5 millimeters, a figure insufficient for those hoping for relief in consumption and temperatures. Meanwhile, towns such as Catalán Grande and Colonia Rivera barely reached 10 millimeters, while Baltasar Brum reached 28 millimeters and Paso Campamento 24 millimeters.

In Section 5, the differences were clear: Paso Farías with 48 and Estación Cuaró with only 16. The same occurred in Section 11, where Catalán Grande added 10 and Charqueada 16. These variations make production planning difficult and generate uncertainty in the area.

Colonia Palma recorded 20 millimeters, while Guayubira and Colonia Pintado each had 12 millimeters. The numbers, although better than in Rivera, are still low compared to the need for water storage.

The situation confirms that rainfall remains erratic and unable to reverse the drought that has plagued the department for months. The lack of infrastructure to store water exacerbates the situation, leaving families and farmers exposed to climate variability.

The official report provides precise figures, but the social implications are clear: the unequal impact of the rains affects the family economy, local production, and the daily lives of the residents of Artigas.
