How management progressed after the Hyundai plant raid and the possible return

The nearly 300 South Koreans detained in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid at a Hyundai Motor plant in Georgia could leave the country this week on a chartered flight to South Korea, after Seoul announced the conclusion of negotiations for the release of its nationals.

The plane will depart from nearby Jacksonville Airport in Florida, presumably next Wednesday, according to Cho Ki Joong, Consul General of the South Korean Embassy in Washington, in statements reported by the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

visited the ICE Processing Center in Folkston, Georgia, this Sunday , where consular staff checked on the conditions and health of his fellow citizens, who made up the majority of the 475 migrants detained in the ICE raid at the electric vehicle battery plant partially operated by Hyundai Motor.

After meeting with them in a dining room at the facility, Cho indicated that everyone was fine, although obviously "not as comfortable as at home," while assuring them that Seoul is doing everything possible to ensure that those who wish to return to the Asian country can do so "as soon as possible."

The raid in question has been described by US authorities as the largest single- site immigration enforcement operation in the history of Homeland Security investigations , an operation that President Donald Trump defended from the Oval Office on Friday, arguing that it targeted "illegal aliens."

For its part, the car company confirmed the police operation at its facilities, but denied that any detainees worked "directly" for Hyundai, while defending its commitment to complying with "all laws and regulations in all markets where we operate."

"We expect the same commitment from all our partners, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors," the company's statement reads.

This Sunday, the White House resident alluded to the raid and called on "all" foreign companies "to respect the country's immigration laws" and to "hire and train American workers."

"Your investments are welcome, and we encourage you to legally bring in your highly trained, technically talented staff to develop world-class products . We will make this possible quickly and legally," he stated on his Truth Social network .
