MADRID, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)
The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Oscar Puente, confirmed this Friday that the line between Madrid and Galicia "is 100% operational," but given the proximity of the fires, there is no civil protection permit to operate the service. He acknowledged that this is the first time a high-speed line has been closed for three consecutive days.
"Adif is maintaining a scanning machine active 24 hours a day to verify the condition of the track between Madrid and Galicia. The track is fully operational. However, due to the proximity of the fires, we do not have a civil protection permit to provide the service," the minister stated via his account on the social media platform X.
"This is the first time a high-speed line has been cut for three consecutive days," he added.
In this regard, Renfe warns that "due to the high risk arising from the fires, rail service between Madrid and Galicia remains suspended until further authorization," adding that "it is available to resume service as soon as the competent authorities give their approval and the infrastructure is ready to resume service."
