MADRID, 18 (EUROPA PRESS)
Portuguese forward André Silva became a new Elche player on Monday, joining the club on a transfer from RB Leipzig. He signed a contract until June 2026 with an option to extend for one more season, the Elche-based club confirmed.
André da Silva is a striker "with extensive experience in the major European leagues," who came through the youth ranks of FC Porto, where he made his first-team debut, establishing himself as "one of the most promising attackers of his generation."
After his time in Portugal, André da Silva made the leap to Serie A with AC Milan. He later moved to Spain, where he was already familiar with La Liga thanks to his spells with Sevilla FC and Real Sociedad. His journey then continued in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, where he made 110 appearances, scoring 27 goals and providing 20 assists. Last season, he spent the second half of the season on loan at Werder Bremen, where he played eight matches and scored one goal.
A Portuguese international, André Silva has played in competitions such as the European Championship and the Nations League, which he won in 2019. "His style combines technique, power, and tactical acumen, allowing him to adapt to different systems and contribute to the team both in creating and finishing plays," Elche stated in a statement.
André da Silva joins the Franjiverde project to strengthen Elche CF's attack and lead the forward line. His arrival marks the ninth signing for Eder Sarabia's team, which makes its 2025-26 LaLiga EA Sports debut this Monday at the Martínez Valero stadium against Real Betis.
