MADRID, 20 (EUROPA PRESS)
The Dutch government announced this Wednesday the planned shipment of two Patriot missile systems and 300 military personnel to Poland to protect a logistics center used by NATO to provide support to Ukraine.
The deployment will begin on December 1 and continue until June 2026, according to a statement from the Dutch Ministry of Defense, which also confirmed the deployment of a Nasams air defense system and several anti-drone systems.
Minister Ruben Brekelmans emphasized in a statement that, with this new commitment, the Netherlands is contributing to "three important objectives," including the defense of NATO territory, deterring potential Russian aggression, and continued support for Ukraine. "In this way, we are keeping the Russian threat as much at bay as possible," he emphasized.
Poland and the Netherlands signed a memorandum in July to increase their military cooperation, as part of a rapprochement that had already led the Dutch government to commit to sending four F-35 fighter jets to a country bordering Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.
