MADRID, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)
Authorities in the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), estimated this Friday that more than 61,800 people have already died from the Israeli offensive in the enclave since the attacks by Palestinian militias on October 7, 2023, after noting 51 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
Specifically, the Gaza Ministry of Health has put its latest death toll at 61,827 dead and 155,275 injured (369 since Thursday), although the figures could be higher because many people are still under the rubble.
Gazan authorities have also reported that since Israel broke the ceasefire signed with Hamas last March, more than 10,300 Palestinians have died, while more than 43,200 have been injured in the Israeli offensive.
Likewise, 17 people have been killed and 250 injured in the enclave in the last 24 hours due to Israeli military in lines waiting to receive humanitarian aid, bringing the total number of victims to 1,898 dead and 14,113 injured, respectively.
Hospitals in Gaza have also recorded the death of a child due to starvation. In total, according to the Gaza authorities, 235 people have now died from starvation, including 106 children.
