MADRID, 20 (EUROPA PRESS)
More than 62,100 Palestinians have died in the Gaza Strip due to the military offensive launched by Israel in October 2023, according to the latest figures published this Wednesday by Gazan authorities, who confirmed another 58 deaths and 185 injuries in the last 24 hours.
The Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry has reported 62,122 deaths and 156,758 injuries since the start of the offensive, although it has warned that these figures could be higher due to the large number of people still missing under the rubble.
Authorities estimate that 10,576 people have died and 44,717 have been injured since Israel broke the last ceasefire in March, while the worsening humanitarian crisis has already killed 269 Palestinians from starvation, three of them in the last day. A total of 112 children have died from this.
Authorities have also reported that 22 people have died and 49 have been injured since Tuesday while waiting for aid, bringing the total number of deaths among Palestinians queuing for assistance to 2,018.
