Ultranationalist Laura Loomer had denounced the arrival of the refugees – injured children, according to an NGO – as a threat to national security.

The US government announced this Saturday that it was suspending all visa applications for refugees from the Gaza Strip after acknowledging that it had approved "a small number of temporary medical and humanitarian visas in recent days."
The statement was released this Saturday by the State Department following a complaint from Laura Loomer, one of the most extremist representatives of the MAGA movement that supports US President Donald Trump.
This Friday, Loomer posted on her X account that Palestinian refugees had arrived in San Francisco and Texas through the NGO Heal Palestine "despite the United States claiming it did not accept" this community under the Trump Administration.
Loomer, known for her ultra-nationalist views, denounced the arrival of these refugees as "a threat to national security" and demanded the dismissal of those responsible for facilitating these visas.
Heal Palestine, on its website, had previously stated that the children were seriously injured by Israeli attacks, accompanied by their families. The children are receiving medical care in hospitals in several cities across the country, including Atlanta, Boston, Columbus, Dallas, Galveston, Oakland, San Antonio, San Jose, and Seattle. "With this group, Heal Palestine has evacuated 63 injured children and a total of 148 evacuees," its website states.
In response, the State Department announced the suspension of "all visitor visas for individuals from Gaza" pending "a full and thorough review of the process and procedures used."
In the same statement, also published in X, the State Department indicated that it has issued "a small number of temporary medical and humanitarian visas in recent days" for the Gazan population.
