The Movistar Team presented this Monday the squad that will compete in the 2025 Vuelta a España, which starts next Saturday in the city of Turin, with a lineup of eight riders that does not include the injured Enric Mas or Iván Romeo, but with a solid and balanced block with which they will look to be protagonists throughout the race.
The team departing next Saturday from the Italian city of Turin will be composed of Jorge Arcas, Orluis Aular, Carlos Canal, Pablo Castrillo, Jefferson Cepeda, Iván G. Cortina, Michel Hessmann, and Javier Romo. A solid and balanced block that will look to be a key player throughout the race.
Starting in the capital of the Piedmont region (Italy) and finishing in the capital of Spain, Movistar Team presented its lineup for the 21 stages and 3,151 km of the 80th edition of La Vuelta a España.
The route will run through Italy, France, Andorra, and Spain. It will feature two time trials (team and individual), four flat stages (one with a mountain finish), three hilly stages with a mountain finish, six medium-mountain stages, and five mountain stages with finishes at the summits of Pal, Cerler, l'Angliru, La Farrapona, and Bola del Mundo.
In 2025, Arcas will have made his sixth appearance in the Spanish Tour, making him the most experienced rider on the Spanish team. Canal, Cepeda, and Cortina will be competing in their fourth edition, while Aular, Castrillo, and Romo will be competing for the second time. Finally, Hessmann will be making his debut in La Vuelta.
