RCD Mallorca salvaged a point this Saturday against RC Celta (1-1) at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix in the second matchday of LaLiga EA Sports, a match in which Jagoba Arrasate's team neutralized in the 87th minute, through Mateu Morey, the goal of the sky-blues in the first half, the work of another wing-back, Javi Rueda.
With Omar Mascarell and Mateo Joseph - who was making his debut as a starter - forced into the squad due to their expulsions during the 3-0 defeat in their debut against FC Barcelona, the Balearic team issued a warning in the opening minutes with a shot from the U-21 international that Romanian goalkeeper Ionut Radu easily saved.
Ilaix Moriba, just a few minutes later, responded with a low shot that forced Leo Román to dig deep, before Mateo Joseph tried his luck again with a cross that went wide. However, it was the Galician team that took the lead.
In the 38th minute, Hugo Sotelo delivered a superb through ball for Javi Rueda, who had replaced Óscar Mingueza in the starting lineup, to perfectly chip it past Román to score Vigo's first goal. Thus, Mallorca and Celta remain winless in LaLiga this season and sit with one point in the standings. The Vigo team will host Real Betis next week, while the Vermillion team will visit Real Madrid at the Santiago Bermabéu stadium.
