MADRID, 18 (EUROPA PRESS)
Albanian defender Marash Kumbulla will play for RCD Mallorca until the end of the season, after the Balearic club and AS Roma reached an agreement for his loan.
The 25-year-old from Peschiera del Garda thus returns to LaLiga EA Sports. He played for RCD Espanyol last season; during his loan spell with Espanyol, he made 36 appearances across LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.
Previously, Kumbulla played for Italian clubs such as Hellas Verona and Sassuolo. Despite being born in Italy, he is a full international for Albania, with whom he has played 24 matches.
"I'm very happy to be here. I spoke with the director of football, Pablo, and the manager, and they have a lot of confidence in me. They told me a lot about Mallorca's project, and when the club called me, I wanted to be here as soon as possible. I want to play as many games as possible and help the team achieve as much as possible. I hope everything goes as planned," he said in statements provided by the club.
He also revealed his first conversation with coach Jagoba Arrasate. "The manager and I talked about what he wants as a coach, the club, the fans, and everything that is Mallorca. I really liked it," he said. "We spoke with Vedat Muriqi when I met him here at Espanyol. I have a good relationship with him and I want to see him soon," he concluded.
