On Friday, August 29, at 11:30 a.m., Spanish national football coach Luis de la Fuente will announce the squad list for the first qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The Spanish national team will face Bulgaria on September 4 in Sofia and Turkey on September 7 in Konya, according to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Following the announcement of the squad, which will be announced through official RFEF channels, the Riojan coach will address the media in the José Villalonga room at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, at approximately 12:30 p.m. The RFEF also announced that the senior national team training camp will begin on Monday, September 1, at 1:00 p.m., at the Ciudad del Fútbol.

Meanwhile, David Gordo's new U-21 team will kick off on Friday, with the announcement of the squad at 12:00 p.m. After announcing his first squad, the Alcalá coach will also appear before the media in the same José Villalonga room.

"La Rojita" will play against Cyprus in Soria on September 5th and will face Kosovo in Pristina four days later, in two qualifying matches for the 2027 European Championship, which will be held in Serbia and Albania.
