MADRID, 20 (EUROPA PRESS)

The high-speed train line between Madrid and Galicia, which has been closed for seven days, will be back in operation at 5:00 p.m. this Wednesday, following an improvement in the situation with the fires in Galicia and Castile and León.

This was confirmed on 'X' by Renfe's president, Álvaro Fernández Heredia, who announced that the company will also have additional special trains to serve all those affected by the outages of recent days.

Adif, the public company that manages the railway network, has already announced that the latest infrastructure inspection has certified that the track is now ready for train traffic.

The Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi) in Zamora had already authorized traffic to Adif this morning, and only the authorization from the Galician Cecopi remained to be announced.

Adif has now been authorized to power up the 30 kilometers that were shut down by civil protection. The remaining traffic closures on conventional and narrow-gauge lines in the province of León have also been approved to resume service once infrastructure inspections are completed.
