Salto: murder in broad daylight shocks the Salto Nuevo neighborhood

A homicide in broad daylight shocked the Salto Nuevo neighborhood in the city of Salto this Thursday. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m., when a man was fatally shot in the chest while he was on a public street.

According to police information, the attacker, who knew the victim, arrived at his home and shot him without saying too many words. The attack took place at the intersection of Larrañaga and Cuareim streets, in front of neighbors who witnessed the event.

The victim was rushed to the Salto Hospital, but died shortly after admission due to the severity of the wound.

The prosecutor in the case, Augusto Martinicorena, reported that both the aggressor and the victim had criminal records and had had disputes for some time. Police arrested the suspect shortly after the crime and seized the weapon used.

The investigation focuses on confirming the motive for the attack and reconstructing the last movements of both involved. The violent episode generated great concern among neighbors, who are demanding a greater police presence in the area.
