Vigo-born sprinter Sebastián 'Chevi' Guzmán won two more gold medals this Thursday, bringing his total to four, in the speed skating events at the World Games, being held in Chengdu, China.
The Spanish skater is one of the most prominent figures at the World Games, having already won four gold medals to confirm his dominance in the sport throughout the event. This time, he won the finals of the 500m Sprint 500m and the 200m Time Trial, adding medals to those already won in the 100m Sprint—with a world record—and the Men's Vuelta a España.
Also in Speed Skating, Patxi Peula, who already holds a gold medal at these World Games, came close to winning a medal in the 5,000m event, finishing fourth in the final. Luisa González, however, ultimately did not compete in the 200m Time Trial.
In other disciplines, Spaniard Javier Martín finished fifteenth in the Duathlon, and in Powerlifting, Iván Campano finished sixth in the lightweight final.
