He Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) has issued new yellow and orange alerts for the night of this Tuesday, April 7, due to the presence of intense and sustained winds, as a consequence of an extratropical cyclone that is affecting our territory. This meteorological phenomenon is a cause for concern and requires attention from the population.
Starting at 9:00 p.m., a yellow alert will come into force, in which sustained winds are anticipated that will range between 40 and 60 km/h, with gusts that may reach between 60 and 80 km/h, coming from the southeast and south sector. This situation will be generated as an atmospheric depression deepens in the south of the country, which will increase the intensity of the wind in several locations.
