Gaza authorities reported that at least seven people, including two children, died in the last 24 hours as a direct result of the lack of food. The situation, exacerbated by restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and the Israeli military offensive, keeps the enclave in a state of extreme emergency.
The local Ministry of Health reported that these deaths bring the total number of victims of hunger and malnutrition to 420 since the start of the blockade, 145 of whom are children. Since the Integrated Food Security Phase (IPC) declared Gaza in a state of famine in August alone, 142 deaths have been recorded, including 30 children.
The Israeli offensive began following attacks carried out on October 7, 2023, by various Palestinian factions. Since then, Gazan authorities have recorded more than 64,750 deaths, amid strong international criticism of the aid blockade and the impact on the civilian population.
Humanitarian organizations warn that the combination of violence , isolation, and resource scarcity is pushing Gaza into an unprecedented crisis, with potentially irreversible consequences if immediate access to food and medicine is not guaranteed.
