The youngest Pixar animated film, Elio , about a lonely boy who finds himself in outer space after being mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, was a box office disappointment when it hit theaters in June. But with its digital release this week, the Pixar film, which features the voices of Yonas Kibeab, Zoe Saldana, Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil, and more, is poised to find a wider audience among home viewers.
Starting Tuesday, August 19, the animated film is available for purchase or rental online in 4K Ultra HD digitally from $24.99 on Prime Video , Apple TV , and other digital platforms.

America Ferrera left her voice role as Elio's mother due to scheduling conflicts, and original director Adrian Molina also left the project. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios, Pixar's Elio is awaiting Disney+ streaming for subscribers only . While the studio has yet to announce a streaming date for the film, it will likely drop in late September or early October.
