The Salto Police are conducting a vigorous search to find the person responsible for a homicide that occurred Thursday afternoon in the Salto Nuevo neighborhood.
According to police sources, a man with a criminal record arrived at a home located at the intersection of Lavalleja and Cuareim, where he met the victim. After an argument in the street, the man fired a gunshot.
The victim fell to the ground in front of several neighbors who witnessed the scene and was rushed to Salto Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he died a few minutes later due to the severity of his injuries.
Police carried out multiple raids in the area and surrounding areas in an attempt to capture the perpetrator, who has since been identified. However, they have so far been unable to locate him.
Local authorities indicated that they continue working on the case and expect to make an arrest in the coming hours.
