At least five people have died, one remains missing, and several have been injured following torrential rains in the northeastern Indian state of Jharkhand.
Indian authorities have reported that heavy rains have caused severe damage and flooding in the area, resulting in five fatalities, including a woman and her son who died after their house collapsed in the Saraikela Kharsawan district.
In this deadly incident, eight other people were injured because the family home was receiving visits from other relatives. The mother and her son died at MGM Hospital in the city of Jamshedpur.
At least seven people died last Sunday in the Kathua district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir , also due to severe flooding and landslides caused by monsoon rains in the area.
