Ivorian defender Eric Bailly will play for Real Oviedo for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2027, after the Asturian club and the player, a free agent following the end of his contract with Villarreal CF, reached an agreement for his signing.
The 31-year-old from Bingerville had his first taste of Spanish football at just 17 when he joined RCD Espanyol, where he made his La Liga debut in 2014. In January 2015, he signed for Villarreal.
The Ivorian played 47 matches for the 'Yellow Submarine' before leaving the Castellón club in the summer of 2016 for Manchester United, becoming, at €40 million , the most expensive transfer in the club's history.
He subsequently played for Olympique de Marseille and Besiktas before returning to Villarreal on December 30, 2023; during this second spell, he appeared in 25 matches.
