MADRID, 19 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Minister of Digital Transformation and Public Service, Óscar López, assured this Tuesday that the government will work to pass the 2026 General State Budget (PGE).

"We're going to work toward this goal, and I'm confident we'll achieve it," López emphasized in an interview with RNE, reported by Europa Press.

The minister stated that, despite having a minority in Parliament, during Pedro Sánchez's seven-year government, they have managed to "get everything done."

"There are the numbers of laws and measures approved, and we don't know how to do anything other than unite and work to reach agreements," the minister argued.

López's remarks come after First Vice President of the Government and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, confirmed on Monday that the government will present the draft General State Budget for 2026.

"Of course, the Spanish Government will present the draft budget that will highlight the political priorities it is promoting, fundamentally aimed at the well-being of the majority of citizens," the minister added.

After the minister said this, the president of the ERC (Republican Left) party, Oriol Junqueras, warned the government that there can be no new budgetary agreements "if there is no significant compliance with fiscal matters, tax collection, or the financing model."
