MADRID, 15 (EUROPA PRESS)

Representative Johannes Kaiser, leader of the National Libertarian Party (PNL), presented his candidacy this Thursday to run in the presidential elections to be held in Chile on November 16.

"It's official! Today, Johannes Kaiser was registered as the PNL presidential candidate with the Chilean Electoral Service (Servel)," the far-right party announced on its X social media account, where it described the registration of the candidacy as a "historic moment."

He also thanked "everyone" present at the event because "their support motivates us and gives us the strength to keep going."

Kaiser will thus compete for the presidency of the Latin American country with Republican Party leader José Antonio Kast and communist candidate Jeannete Jara, who will represent the governing coalition, Unidad por Chile. Also expected to register are Evelyn Mathhei, a candidate for the Independent Democratic Union, and populist Franco Parisi, although the deadline to do so expires at midnight next Monday.
