Spanish 3x3 basketball international Vega Gimeno has stated that her motivation for the future is to continue "winning medals" for the national team and maintain the "visibility" of the discipline, and she has acknowledged that she feels "happy" to have managed to focus "only on 3x3", which is becoming "more and more popular".
"Winning this medal and everything it meant is still fresh in our minds. A year later, people are still remembering that milestone, the first 3x3 basketball medal in history. We're incredibly proud and thrilled that the work was rewarded with that medal, but above all, for the visibility we still have today," she said upon arriving at the 6th Spanish Basketball Gala at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
Regarding her motivation for the future, the Valencian is clear. "To keep winning and gaining visibility, to keep promoting 3x3 and bringing it to the media, who are a fundamental part of all this growth the sport is experiencing. We will keep pushing for this to continue and, above all, we will keep trying to win medals," she noted.
Finally, she expressed her happiness at finally being able to dedicate herself exclusively to 3x3. "I'm happy. It's been a really cool year in which I've finally been able to focus solely on 3x3, train only with my coach, everything very focused on 3x3. I've felt very comfortable, very good in all the tournaments we've played. More and more players from the national team are joining me, and they're also leaving the 5x5 discipline. I'm happy because there are more and more of us," she concluded.
