Attack in El Ceibal. Salto Police are trying to clarify a violent incident that occurred early Tuesday morning, when a home and a car were damaged in circumstances that are still under investigation.
The attack took place on Washington Beltrán Street, at number 1400, a residential area that had not previously reported incidents of this type.

According to police sources, a woman reported that her vehicle, which was parked in front of her house, was hit by as yet unidentified projectiles. The building's facade was also damaged, alarming neighbors who heard the explosions and went out into the street in search of answers.

Officers from the Salto Police immediately went to the scene to conduct forensic examinations and collect evidence. Investigators are analyzing the remains found at the site to determine what type of projectiles were used and whether it was an intentional attack or an act of vandalism.

At the moment, no one has been arrested, but several hypotheses are being considered. One suggests a personal conflict, while another suggests a possible attempt at intimidation. Officers are seeking witnesses and reviewing security cameras in the area to reconstruct the route taken by the possible perpetrators.

A source involved in the case explained that the woman had not received any previous threats, although they haven't ruled out the possibility that the attack was related to a previous incident. "We are working on all possible avenues," the relevant police station stated.

The incident sparked concern in the community. Several residents expressed fear of a repeat of similar incidents.
“We heard a loud noise, like an explosion, and then we saw the damaged car,” one neighbor told local media outlet Salto Noticias . “We live peacefully on this block; nothing like this has ever happened before.”

Following the attack in El Ceibal, authorities reinforced the police presence in the neighborhood and recommended that residents immediately call 911 if they experience any suspicious situation.

In recent months, the city of Salto has seen an increase in reports of property damage and minor acts of violence.
