The Departmental Government confirmed this Wednesday that a garbage collection service employee was attacked while attempting to carry out his duties as part of a demonstration organized by the ADEOMS union. Chronology of the incident of assault on a public official
According to the official version released by the Departmental Government, the worker was preparing the truck with a colleague when he was approached by several people who tried to prevent him from continuing his work. At that moment, a verbal exchange ensued, during which the worker expressed his intention to continue working. He was then hit in the back and directly threatened if he continued his work.
The assault was formally reported to Police Headquarters by the officer himself, who also received public support from the City Hall. Mayor Carlos Albisu contacted the victim directly to learn more about what happened and make himself available. It was also announced that the complaint will be expanded in the coming days, given that the incident occurred during work hours and could also constitute an administrative offense.
Administrative investigation for assault on an official on duty
The Municipality announced that an internal administrative investigation will be initiated to identify those responsible for the incident. This investigation will be conducted in parallel with the criminal investigation, which is being conducted by the Police Headquarters and, eventually, by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The objective is to determine whether there were any violations of the law or conduct that warrants disciplinary sanctions within the institutional framework.
Among the available evidence, there are videos recorded by neighbors showing a line of trucks stopped in the Gutiérrez Ruiz area, as well as images of a person attempting to deflate the tire of one of the vehicles. These recordings were incorporated as supplementary evidence in the investigation.

The ADEOMS protest took place in protest of a Departmental Government resolution related to the dismissal of public employees. In this context, the rally in Parque Solari and the stoppage of garbage collection trucks were organized. The union has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident reported by the assaulted employee.
