Argentine striker Lucas Boyé became a new Deportivo Alavés player this Friday for the next four seasons, until 2029, following the agreement reached between the Vitoria-based team and Granada.

"Deportivo Alavés and Granada CF have reached an agreement for the transfer of footballer Lucas Boyé to the Alavés club. The Argentine striker becomes the eighth signing of this summer transfer window and will strengthen the Babazorro attack until 2029," the club announced in a statement.

Lucas Boyé, 29, began his professional career at River Plate, where he made his debut in the Argentine Primera División. He later played on loan at Newell's Old Boys before making the final leap to Europe to sign for Torino FC in Serie A. The forward also played on loan at RC Celta, AEK Athens, and Reading FC in the English Championship.

Following this, Elche CF acquired his services on loan for the 2020-21 season, with performances that were instrumental in the club's continued presence at the club, which exercised its purchase option. Over the following two seasons, Boyé became one of the club's mainstays, with whom he played 100 official matches and scored 23 goals. In 2023, he joined Granada, ultimately making 64 appearances and scoring 16 goals.

"Lucas Boyé has established himself as a versatile, dynamic, and highly skilled striker with a tremendous ability to form a team. He also knows what it's like to play for the Argentine national team (1 match). The player is now in Vitoria-Gasteiz to continue his recovery process and return to top form under manager Coudet as soon as possible," the club's statement concluded.
